Unsurprisingly, the Italian Manufacturers of MV Augusta, Aprilia, and Gilera, are 3rd, 4th, and 5th in terms of manufacturers with the most success in Italy. The success achieved by MV Augusta in the 500cc World Championship is yet to be matched by either Japanese manufacturer. That's because MV Augusta have won a total of 16 times in the 500cc category. The two most successful riders here are both Italians; Giacomo Agostini and Valentino Rossi have 6 wins and 7 wins each in 500cc and MotoGP respectively.
